Site Migrations to HTN Cloud Hosting
Several sites, formerly on VPS or MPS accounts, are now migrated to HTN Cloud Hosting Cirrus accounts. We have seen speed improvements with each site.
Our experience with the external McAfee scan of the Cirrus Hosting Plan confirms that these servers readily pass external PCI scans. One site owner who had previously used ControlScan reported that McAfee was much easier to use. McAfee PCI Certification Service is available through HTN for $99/year. It satisfies PCI DSS requirement 11.2 for external vulnerability scans.
Backups are included in your HTN Cloud Hosting. Five daily backups are retained. If you need something restored, send us an email at support@hensteeth.net. Should you want a backup solution in which you can control the number of days retained, the schedule, and the restoration of files yourself, we offer Nest Egg Backup Version 2 (see story for details).
The Cirrus plans are the obvious choice for sites currently on VPS or MPS accounts. They are suitable for sites doing e-commerce where they take credit cards, sites needing more than one IP address, or sites that need large amounts of processing power or disk space.
If none of those applies to your site, you are a good candidate for a Stratus account.

For Webmasters and Resellers
Our goal is simply to make hosting a profitable, pain-free product for you, not to get between you and your customers.
We offer two levels of reseller plans: affiliate and reseller. Unlike many other affiliate and reseller plans, your discounts with HTN plans continue indefinitely. It is not a one-time “bonus” situation, but a long-term discount.
At the affiliate level, you retain the billing relationships with your customers. HTN will do the first level tech support for the hosting plans, leaving you free to manage the rest of your relationship with your customers.
At the reseller level, you manage 100% of the relationship with your customers. There are tiers within the reseller program based on both volume and revenue. For large resellers, it is possible to arrange for us to automatically provision plans to your specifications.

PCI Short and Simple
July 1, 2010 is the deadline. If you sell online and take credit card information on your site, then sooner or later the Payment Card Industry (PCI) will change how you do business.

Nest Egg Backup Version 2
Many hosting providers offer no backups for their hosting plans. Some provide a nightly backup (each backup overwriting the previous night’s backup).
HTN provides a free backup solution on its HTN Cloud Hosting plans that stores five days of backup files. This means that should you delete something on a Friday before a holiday weekend, you can still restore the file on Tuesday when you get back to work. Just contact HTN (send email to support@hens-teeth.net) and we can put the file back for you.
For a fuller backup solution, we have our newly updated Nest Egg Backup Version 2. For just $9/month per computer, you can have full backups of your server or workstations and full control of scheduling the backup and restoring files yourself. With the workstation offering, Nest Egg Backup includes the ability to create shared disks among the workstations.
Nest Egg Backup Version 2 works with Mac OS X, Windows, or Linux servers and Mac OS X, Windows, or Linux workstations. It includes 20 GB of storage space per computer backed up. There is a $0.20/GB charge for storage beyond that 20 GB allowance. The free storage allocation is pooled. So if you are backing up three computers, you have a pooled storage allowance of 60 GB before the $0.20/GB storage charge kicks in.
